Eurolec Instrumentation Ltd is introducing their new attractively styled, robust Euro-temp & Euro-manoseries microprocessor based portable thermometers/probes and differential manometers.
Also their new CS Series comprises of two dry block "black body" sources for calibration with a temperature control system and a pocket for a reference thermometer. Model CS173 features a range of +30 to +200°C and model CS174 features a range of 40°C below ambient (approx. -20°C) to +85°C, together with 0.01°C resolution between -19.99°C to + 85.00°C.

  • Festo drives modules!
Festo launched an intelligent multi-axis control module for electric drives. The new CPX-CMXX module is a highly integrated plug-in unit designed for use with Festo's renowned CPX series of multifunctional control terminals. The module is particularly easy to configure and set up using Festo's FCT software tool, and helps dispense with the need for a considerable amount of system wiring, making it a very elegant drop-in control solution for single and multiple axis drives. These attributes will undoubtedly prove popular with OEMs and system integrators seeking to reduce their time to market. (Stand 19)

  • Roxspur flow measurement of gases
The Platon Flobar from RM&C is used for cost-effective flow measurement of gases, liquids or steam. Flobar's unique profile offers accurate and repeatable measurement over a wide flow turndown. (Stand 1022)

  • Much more than Infra-Red!
We already know of Fluke for its range of Infra-Red thermometers including the Raytek and Ircon brands, but they also produce a huge range of other test instruments that not only measure temperature but also power quality analysers, air quality, scopemeters, process calibrators, multimeters and many other electrical testers. Radir are main British and Irish distributors for this range on stand 1644.

  • Emerson to Present Smart Wireless Paper
Realising Operational Safety and Business Benefits from Wireless Technology Andy Wallace, Business Manager for Wireless Solutions with Emerson Process Management, will present a paper entitled "Realising Operational Safety and Business Benefits from Wireless Technology" as part of the Wireless Solutions for Automation seminar programme. Featuring real world applications of their Smart Wireless self-organising technology, the presentation will describe why this innovative technology is being embraced by the process industry.

  • Piezoelectric sensors make miniature joining module sensitive & precise
The new NCFT Type 2157A electromechanical joining module from Kistler Instruments has been designed specifically for applications where precise positioning and reliable repeatability must be combined with very small joining forces. Typically, the new module will be ideal for manual and automated assembly of small and miniature components such as inserting small bearings and gear wheels into miniature gearboxes. Based on the well proven design of Kistler's large joining modules, the new module uses integrated force-displacement monitoring to achieve 100% quality assurance throughout the joining phase. (Stand 856)

  • RDP Electronics to exhibit comprehensive transducer range
Transducer solutions specialists RDP Electronics Ltd will be showing the latest developments in sensor technology at the show. Offering a comprehensive range of transducers, which includes load cells, pressure sensors, LVDTs, torque and magnetostrictive transducers complete with instrumentation and measurement software; RDP are specialists in providing cost effective solutions to a broad range of measurement needs, right from the point of measurement through to PC display of data. (Stand 872)

  • Versatile Camera Technology Highlighted
Stemmer Imaging (formerly Firstsight Vision) will be showing the Spyder 3 Colour CameraLink linescan camera from Dalsa for the first time at VTX. Based on the established Spyder 3 dual line scan monochrome model, this camera provides high colour fidelity, flexibility, and excellent price/performance. The red and blue colour pixels alternate in one line and all the green pixels are in the other line with no spacing between the lines. The camera offers several colour output format options, including RGB, RG/BG, or G only to meet different imaging requirements.
  • Increased demand for gas detector
Incorporating Owlstone's proprietary FAIMS technology, Lonestar offers the flexibility to provide both rapid alerts and detailed sample analysis. It can be trained to respond to a broad range of chemical scenarios and can be easily integrated with other sensors and third party systems to provide a complete monitoring solution. As a result, it is suitable for a broad variety of application ranging from online/at line process monitoring to lab based R&D.

  • ASM sensors for medical and aerospace
ASM had their biggest ever stand this year at mtec'09. They showed their range of sensors and introduced the WS31 cable extension sensor series with a new mounting bracket. This is ideal for OEM and in the medical and aerospace testing applications.
  • Relative humidity products from Michell
Key products in this years show from Michell Instruments was the recently launched S8000 Intergral. This cooled mirror hygrometer is able to cope with sample gas at pressures of up to 17 barg. This means a reduced response time which can help save users time and money in dry applications - such as compressed air manufacture - where low dew-points are reached. (Stand 832)

  • Fine pressure and flow measurement
Huba Control develops, manufactures and markets components designed exclusively for the measurement of pressure. These are pressure switches (switching elements on/off), pressure sensors and pressure transmitters (sensors with integrated amplified electronic). In an exciting innovation, the 'Vision For All' programme will contain a conference session, hosted by UKIVA member Imaging & Machine Vision Europe, featuring four practical case studies, presented by the end users themselves. Each paper will last for 15-20 minutes and will offer a detailed example of a real-life, working machine vision installation, with the emphasis on the user/customer and their experiences of using machine vision rather than rather than from the vendor's perspective. Aspects to be covered will include: identifying the initial problem; the tendering exercise; site survey; installation (time/disruption etc), commissioning, operation, cost, and the subsequent savings and improvements resulting from the use of the vision system.
