"Best show we have done in many years" (Andy Rendell-Read, VBC Automation)
Trident's co-located February shows at the Birmingham NEC have once again proved that quality, focused events provide a successful formula for both visitor and exhibitor.
With over 600 companies represented on the 11th and 12th February and the opportunity to visit still free of charge, over 6000 appropriate decision makers and industrialists were noticeably attracted.

EID was very constructive for exhibitors, as expressed by Janet Torley of Axon' Cable, "Good turnout - over 70 enquiries - wow!" and Fred Tagg of Craft Data Ltd "We were able to talk to a lot of people with a number of real projects."

Mtec was also a huge success for the exhibitors, with "Quality of people was absolutely spot-on, very few time wasters" from Don Findlay, DSP Design and "Once again a success - people who visited our stand had genuine interest" from Chris Jones, Micro-Epsilon

Dr Hibat Raza of Thermo Electron corporation also had a very good experience within Practical Vacuum, 'Great show - met a large number of new potential clients'

This was also evident for 3C "Yet again well organised alongside other relevant exhibitions bringing a steady stream of good quality contacts", Mr Jan Pyries of Cleanroom Solutions, "I was very happy with the professionalism of the Trident team, but even more so with the resulting sales leads from this years showŠ 3C 2004 was a very good way to provide our company with some valuable exposure" Russell Bird, Basan UK

IPOT and Machine Vision were very lucrative for many exhibitors, in particular for Colin Geer of Firstsight Vision, UK "...for us IPOT is our premier show of the year and a 'must attend' event". This was echoed by John Crooks of Olympus Industrial "An excellent exhibition - good quality visitors to the stand".

And Machine Building was also very successful for its exhibitors, "This was our third consecutive year and we will definitely be back again in 2005", Keith Gardner, Weiss UK Ltd, "Tremendous - first time we attended but not the last. Well done", Dennis Price, MMI Solutions Ltd

The free workshops and seminars held by The Society for Instrumentation, Systems and Automation (ISA), and the National Physical Laboratory throughout the two day event were also very popular. Bob Squirrell from The Profibus Group, who gave a seminar within the Industrial Networks Technology Centre on 'Solving Process Problems', said "The Profibus Group benefited from a well-attended seminar plus a steady flow of qualified visitors to the stand".
The shows' continuing popularity and success is also evident in the number of bookings for stands already received for the 2005 show, with 59% of the stand space already booked up by the end of February.

  • National Instruments -
Newly launched DIAdem 9.0delivers a unified environment for tramforming test data into the information needed to drive engineering decisions. Using the unique combination of data management, visualization, anal~sis and reporfing featuresin DlAdem 9.0, engineers have the tools they need to extraa and analyze their test data quickllJ and efficiently.
  • Ellison Sensors Group -
The GenSpec Standard GS4200 pressure transmitter is designed for demanding applications where reliable pressure measurement is required and where good quality fast delivery and low cost are high priority. It is is the latest addition to the GENSPEC family, offering outstanding performance due to a unique S.O.S. diaphragm construction giving excellent stability over a wide temperature range. Accuracy is +/- 0.25% with an over pressure limit of twice the nominal pressure, together with an output of 4-20 mA and adjustable zero and span for ease of calibration. All models are supplied with 1/4" BSP thread connection. The titanium pressure ports offer high levels of corrosion resistance.
  • SpaceLogger -
SpaceLogger, from Richard Paul Russell is a small, low cost, high capacity data-logger, where data is stored directly onto Compact Flash, no PC connection is necessary in the field and with the use of on- board flash it is also field upgradeable. Whatever the application it's ideal for logging small or very large amounts of data, with card sizes currently available up to 1GB. It has four 1 O-bit analogue inputs, four digital input/outputs and an RS232/485 port which allows a large number of intelligent sensors to be connected. A real time clock can time stamp readings and/or control time activated measurements.
  • Fluid control systems -
Burkert Fluid Control Systems exhibit a wide range of components that can be integrated into the latest process control systems. They show live and interactive demonstrations of:
  • Fieldbus control in conjunction with process and dosing applications.
  • Signalling between site and control centre using our new remote process actuation control system, AirLINE.
  • Remote monitoring of flow, pH, conductivity, ORP and pressure control using a diversity of communication fieldbus protocols.
  • Detect one litre per minute -
Active Switch and Sensor showed a very sensitive FSO 50V includes two vertical mounting and four horizontal mounting. The switch senses flow and operates at fixed flow rates from 1 litre/minute to 16 litres/minute. The switches are fitted in a cast copper body and have BSP fittings enabling pipes from 0.5 to 2.0in to be connected in series with the switch housing. The design of the housings also enables dirty liquids with small particles to flnw through without impeding the liquid flow.
  • MMS-e - Smartec sensors
For the first time in the UK MMS-e will be showing the full range of Smartec sensors and transducers. Temperature, humidity and pressure sensors will be demonstrated. Also on show will be the Universal Transducer Interface (UTI). This is a smart interface for analogue sensors such a capacitance, resistors and resistive bridges. The Smartec sensors are ideal for digitising with the UTI which interfaces over one wire to the micro-controller.
  • Penny + Giles launches new rugged sensors-
Rugged, reliable position sensing is the theme of the Penny + Giles stand D100 at MTEC 2004. The company will be launching two new products at the show; a new addition to its range of rugged rotary sealed sensors, and a compact, twin-track, linear sensor capable of withstanding temperatures up to 175šC. Designed for use in harsh industrial and automotive - high vibration, shock and high temperature environments - the new products offer viable solutions where competitive offerings fail.
  • It's good to talk! -
ProTalk LogoPro-Talk, the hosts of the incomparable ProcessingTalk and EngineeringTalk news sites will be at the show. Editors and back room staff will answer all your awkward questions about how the websites can work for you, whether reader or contributor.
