Covid Effect: Automation supplier revenues plummet - Automation supplier revenues slipped by 3.5 percent in Q1 2020 due, in part, to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, which took root in many countries in February and March. In Q2, revenues dropped by over 12 percent, with process-centric suppliers seeing a 12.3 percent decline and discrete suppliers posting a 12.7 percent drop overall. (Arc Advisory)
Mixed signal oscilloscope. - The DLM5000 from Yokogawa is a new generation mixed signal oscilloscope with options for four or eight analog inputs.
The new oscilloscope is the successor to the previous 8-channel DLM4000 model. With redesigned hardware, the DLM5000 offers major improvements in both performance and operability, including a sampling rate double that of the DLM4000.

Business partner Hellmann Worldwide Logistics will operate a modern, high-performance logistics center on behalf of the Group in Wörrstadt, near Frankfurt Airport. Components supply forecast without crystal ball! - At the end of each year the Electronic Components Supply Network (ecsn) provides a provisional twelve month Forecast for the year in prospect. The forecast issued by the association in December 2019 reflected the 'reasonable' confidence expressed by ecsn members for the first half of the year but the association chose to limit its predictions for the second half of the year to 'best guidance', due to the lack of customer visibility in the electronic components market coupled with ongoing geo-political uncertainties. Multiplexer. - ProComSol has released its new 4 Channel HART multiplexer with HART-IP. This device allows the user to perform HART communications using the plant's Ethernet network infrastructure. Understanding how to screen for people in an efficient and accurate manner. - Many of the FLIR thermal cameras that are appropriate for measuring skin temperatures also offer built-in functions like visual and sound alarms that can be set to go off when a certain temperature threshold is exceeded. The operator can then instantly decide whether the subject needs to be referred for further screening with additional temperature measurement tools.
