THE
REPORT
|
The end of an era signals many changes at the International Society of
Automation - ISA held what turned out to be the last ISAExpo in Houston, (TX US)
early in October. The size of the show was smaller and the attendance
was down too but despite that and despite the encroaching sunami of the
"great depression" there was a buzz and even cheerfulness in the air.
A new new event will have a small limited table-top segment for vendors
to present their wares and services. Bookings appeared to be brisk as
the Expo drew to a close.

virtualization technology to reduce system cost and size, deploy
distributed custom measurements across vast physical hardware systems
with the new NI wireless sensor network (WSN) platform and streamline
algorithm design and deployment to embedded systems with real-time math.
LabVIEW 2009 also makes it possible to create digital prototypes with
integrated SolidWorks mechatronics tools.
Package enhancement to be launched
Launched at the show will be an important addition to the AVEVA Plant portfolio, AVEVA Instrumentation is a feature-rich suite of integrated applications for the efficient specification, design and maintenance of all plant instrumentation and control systems.
Strategy for Conference Programe Developed!
The ISA EXPO Technical Conference Committee met in Research Triangle Park in February to identify key topics and potential speakers for the ISA EXPO 2009 Conference Program. A team of 26 industry experts, including representatives from end users, contractors, consultants, consortia, institutes, regulators and vendors, discussed industry trends, new technology, and the most pressing issues facing companies today. This year's ISA EXPO takes place 6-8 October in Houston, TX.
As a result of the meeting, the team identified the topics that the conference program will cover within the six technical exchanges:
- Safety
- Security
- Process automation and Control
- Energy and Environment
- Wireless and Networking
- Enterprise Integration.
