Treading the fine line between minimum installation space and maximum power transmission - Electronic devices will continue to become ever smaller and lighter in future. Accordingly, product developers are required to shrink the individual components to the same extent. However, despite the fact that the components are shrinking, their electrical output will need to increase at a similar rate. This requires compliance with certain standards, a well thought-out design concept for all devices, and expertise in combining the smallest possible installation space with maximum power transmission – without compromising user safety.

Catching all the action in smart manufacturing and IIoT. -
ISA member Sujata Tilak described how industrial automation and control systems played a vital role in the burgeoning field of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) in a conversation with 2015 ISA President Jim Keaveney. "They are the foundation for IIoT, and, conversely, all major areas of automation are impacted by IIoT," she said. Starting in 2017 Current president Carlos Mandolesi worked with Tilak and the formation of a new ISA division happened. After two and a half years of planning, the Smart Manufacturing and IIoT (SMIIoT) Division was reality. Said Tilak at the time, "We hope to catch all the action happening in the smart manufacturing and IIoT space via our diverse membership and contribute to this action." (InTech)
