OCR and code reading on moulded components - Automatic reading of part numbers, serial numbers and batch information formed into the surface of moulded components can be difficult using conventional 2D vision systems due to the very low contrast between the code and the component surface. One billion hours - Since its release five years ago, Emerson estimates put the total installed savings resulting from Smart Wireless field devices at more than $350 million (€272m) and reductions in commissioning and installation time totalling 16 man-years.
