We didn't believe it either but it is true there is a Y2K page for
Catholics, this includes a countdown counter - and while we are on the matter isn't it strange that we hear
few mentions of what we are celebrating in Y2K: - 2000 years since the first Christmas? And while we are at it the Year 200 is a Jubilee Year. See the History of Jubilee Yeears in Stamps.

Millennium Meditations - No major technological event or trend is complete without a word from the irrepressible Jim Pinto of Action Instruments. He crystalises his thoughts into a short pithy poem. Take a look at this also at Manufacturing AUTOMATION the Canadian publication.
IT Time-bomb - A presentation and discussion of the results of IDC research on Europe and Year 2000 will be included in this years European IT Forum being held 6-8th September 1998. The general theme of the Forum is "The Impact of the Internet on the Global Economy, Can Europe Compete."
Intech's June'98 issue features an article entitled Surviving the year 2000 crisis. (articles are in PDF format). The Editorial Comment also deals with the issue.
Ready to panic? - Take a look at Gary North's page for an interesting viewpoint.
The April May'98 Issue of Readout, has some items on this
topic. Y2K Letters The June issue of Jack
Grenard's Industrial Controls Intelligence and the PLC Insider's Newsletter contained the foillowing from
Steve Epner of BSW Consulting, which in turn appeared in the Spring issue of Transmissions newsletter of
the Power Transmission Distributors Association: "You will begin to get form letters in the mail from one of
your favourite vendors, customers, or assocates. [The letters] will contain gibberish about the year 2000, and
their desire to make sure there are no problems. Do not ignore these letters...Don't be fooled. They are
not nice, helpful little letters (although some seem to be.) Crafty lawyers carefully draft most of them, and are
preparing to transfer liability for problems caused by the millennium bug unto you."
