    INTERKAMA 1999

INTERKAMA is the worlds largest Instrumentation and Control Exposition bar none. Previous fairs have drawn an attendance of almost 100,000 people. Twenty five percent of these come from outside of Germany.

This year trips are been organised from many parts of the world to this important show. In Ireland Readout and ISA Ireland are organising an Interkama Trip. The dates are 18th to 21st October 1999. Over thirty people have arranged to travel in this party and they will be staying in the Air-Hotel Wartburg, close to the fair grounds.

Primarily targeted for the pharmaceutical, food, and beverage industries, G2 Fermentation Expert helps increase yields and reduce variability of fermentation processes through its advanced modeling and control capabilities.(Stand 7B31 Hall 7)
  • Huber Instrumente - specialists in pressure calibration from laboratory to site, have conceived a new series of pressure calibrators incorporating some badly needed features. Regarding to flexibility and size, we are told "it is second only to the Swiss Officers Knife, which in fact forms a part of its standard equipment!" An experience of several decades in the development and the use of pressure calibrators has formed the base of its development. In a former position, the designer had decisively contributed to one of the most popular series pressure calibrators so far. (Stand 9B24 Hall 9)
  • SWE - International Instrument Users' Associations - the joint co-operation between three international users, Evaluation International (SIREP), WIB, and EXERA will have a shared presence this year. (Stand 10C46 Hall 10)
  • Gensym - will give a good opportunity to learn more about their Intelligent Operations Management, based on Gensym's intelligent G2 software. (Stand 7B31 Hall 7)
  • Siemens - will be presenting solutions for all branches of processing industry. They show IT solutions that are tailor-made for customer requirements based on multivendor-capable products and standardized interfaces. (Stand C41/C59 Hall 14)
  • ABB - Featured at this year Interkama are Utilities, Chemical Oil Cas, Service, Instrumentation and Fieldbus applications. They will also present Applications from Pulp and Paper and Metals at the show. Visitors will be able to kick the tyres of virtual concept cars that showcase future concepts for process control and automation in an unique Think Tank! (Stand 14E22/F22 Hall 14)
  • Ametek - The new Model 3050 OLV Moisture Analyzer combined on-line verification with quartz-crystal accuracy in a costcompetitive package. This highly sensitive moisture analyser transmitter is designed for process applications, which require continuous and reliable measurement of moisture in gases and vapour. (stand 13B31 Hall 13)
  • Mitsubishi Electric - introduced a very exciting new highlight - a miniature4ormat robot designed specifically for high- precision micro-handling applications. Its footprint is no larger than a DIN A5 sheet of paper. Despite its minuscule dimensions the RP-IAH's repeata bility and cycle times make the competition pale by comparison, plus its multitasking operating system supports parallel processing. The RP-IAH is designed for small, cramped work areas and applications like placement of components on SMD circuit boards and micro-mechanics.
  • GE Fanuc's - new Operator Control Station represents a new concept in integrated control by combining a PLC, Operator Interface, I/O control and networking in a single easy to program package. OCS features seamless integration of the PLC and OI and uses a single language, Cscape(, for all configuration and programming allowing faster set-up and easier programming. The integrated design also greatly reduces wiring and speeds up installation time.
  • IMT lndustrie-Messtechnik GmbH - says that compactness and robustness are the main features of the RTD's of the new series PT-Compact. Thus makes them usable in all industrial areas, also in industries, in which special protections specified to DIN 43772 are used.
  • Automsoft International - will showcase its RAPID Historian database software at Interkama'99. "At Automsoft International we understand that plant personnel and management need full access to knowledge about their processes, and need to interpret process information in different ways" said company CEO Tony Prylowski. "Our aim is to provide our customers with the most versatile and useful historian product available: RAPID Historian." (Stand 7F56 Hall 7)

  • ICS Triplex - will be showing the new Trusted fault tolerant safety and critical control system at Interkama. Recently approved by TuV to the demanding Ak6 standard, Trusted achieves the highest availability and therefore plant up time by a combination of exceptional fault tolerance and rugged hardware. Trusted is first fault fault tolerant, second fault fault tolerant and third fault fail safe. Diagnosis and repair is carried out with the system operating, aided by powerful diagnostics and simple module substitution methods. Trusted also features the smallest footprint of any TMR (triple modular redundant) safety system. (Stand 14A33 - hall 14)
  • Unitronics - will be showing their M90 MicroPLC which is both a PLC and a HMI. (Stand B5 - hall 12)
