Each person who attends C&I '98, having completed and returned a pre-registration ticket, will have the opportunity to guess the registration number of the vehicle that will be on display at the entrance to this year's Show.   • Profibus will be represented at Control & Instrumentation '98. Members of the UK Group will be manning the stand at which visitors will be able to obtain free copies of the PROFIBUS Book and the latest Profinews. A key feature of the stand will be a demonstration of the latest version of the Electronic Product Guide (EPG) , windows-compatible database of over1200 Profibus-compatible products from over 150 manufacturers world-wide, including many for Process Automation.
  • Crane Perflow is showing of portable and installed pressure and flow measuring instruments including their revolutionary PERSONIC portable unit that only has to be strapped to the outside of a pipe using velcro tapes to measure hot or cold liquid flows to 1% accuracy.
  • Moore Products shows several new additions to their integrated range of continuous and batch process control and safety systems splutions for the fine chemical and pharmaceutical, power and offshore oil industries, including their APACS 354 Universal Control Station, a new mini DCS in the APACS FieldNet family.
  • Fieldbus Foundation A significant group of member companies will be participating, showing the latest Foundation fieldbus complient produscts that have been designed to meet the rigorous interopearability testing to ensure true plug-and-play capability.
  • AS-interface UK, the User Group organisation for the open AS-interface automation networking solution, is underlining the full interoperatibility of AS-Interface in the control and instrumentation environment using its brand new multi-vendor demonstrator (MVD) system on the Field Communications Pavilion at C&I '98 for the first time.
  • Warwick Manufacturing Group to combine DeviceNet and ControlNet - Warwick Manufacturing will combine DeviceNet with ControlNet International's vendor organisation on stand C180.
  • ASM (Automation Sensors Measurement) - In addition to showing the complete range of the company's cable and actuated position and velocity sensors, they will also introduce the new HIOKI 8835 high speed memory recorder which can sample up to 1m samples per second.
  • fieldbus.com are launching a new range of self-learn software packages for industrial automation and process control is being launched in the UK by a new company set-up to assist fieldbus users benefit from the current revolution in open systems, industrial integration and digital communications.
  • National Instruments will demonstrate their award winning software fr the first time. Included will be BridgeVIEW 2.0 their graphical programming software and Lookout 3.8 the latest version of their high-performance object based industrial automation software.
