- Moore Products showed several new additions to their integrated range of distributed control systems, panel mounted instruments and field instrumentation. This included their SCM (Satelite Control Module), a new, fast module for the APACS system designed for turbine & compresser control, blending and high speed applications; the PAC 353 a new unit controller providing up to 25 process control loops plus extensive sequence contro and communications. They also launched SteaMeter and an ExN version of FieldpaC.
- Crane Perflow displayed what they call a revolutionary new portable instrument that has only to be strapped to the outside of a pipe using velcro tapes to measure hot or cold liquid flows to 1% accuracy.
- FGH Controls showed a new expanded family of temperature controllers and profilers with models from 1/4 DIN to 1/16 DIN.
- PC Soft are developers of the WIZCON SCADA products and showed the new Internet/Intranet data distribution package, WizNet and a new soft logic product, WizPLC alongside their well established 32bit Wizcon 5 for Windows 95, Windows NT and OS/2.
- ISA England the local section of the International Society for Measurement and Control created the ISA Pavilion. It housed exhibits by members' companies, display ISA Publications, including technical books, magazines, training materials and standards and practices. ISA provided a loung area with refreshments for use by participating comp[anies and visiting members. More information from the ISA England Secretariet.
- Elsag Bailey unveiled Symphony, a "new and evolutionary enterprise management and control system."
- Flotech Solutions is the independant distributer of the Brooks Industrial range of flow instruments. This comprehensive range includes thermal mass, variable area and many other other measurement and flow metering products as indicated on their Proflow web site.
- Fisher-Rosemount returned to C&I after 3 years. It unveiled its new PlantWeb architecture, with a live, networked, demonstration that showed how the company is "changing the way you see your plant!" Delta V system ideal for low-cost control; Asset Management Solutions provide on-line real-time plant diagnosis; 'open' technologies will feature strongly.
- National Instruments demonstrated Lookout and BridgeVIEW as well as their industrial communications and data acquisition products. Information on these products is also available on the AutomationWeb.
- Agema Infrared Systems demonstrated IRwin Research 500, a new system solution which extends the range of applications for their well known Thermovision 550 hand-held infrared imager to include PC-based research and development.
- Comark released three new models to expand their popular Diligence Datalogger range.
- Trolex gave exciting demonstrations of their flame sensor at C&I. Courtaulds Chemicals has chosen their TX6221 Flame and Spark sensor for one of their plants. Geoff Roberts has all the details.
- Pantek displayed a range of leading industrial software including the new WonderWare Factory Suite and their well known InTouch.
- USDATA demonstrated the newly released WebClient live on the USDATA & Wizard Information Systems.
- Radio Data Technology (RDT) revealed a number of new developments in its range of lower power, medium range wireless telemetry systems.
- Siemens. A completeely new, patented method of ultrasonic flow measurement- unique to Siemens - is used in the SITRANS F flow meter, which made it world debut at C&I Europe earlier this month.
- Newson Gale Ltddisplayed DOPAK process liquid samples which control fugitive emissions during sampling operations, as well as minimising or eliminating operator exposure to sample material.
- Spirax Sarco the pipeline controls and instrumentation specialists used C&I Europe to launch its new range of compact positioners for pneumatic actuators.
- Klinger has redesigned the sealed float at the heart of its magnetic level gauge technology and thus has extended its well-proven 'mag level' range.
- Jekyll Electronic Technology Ltd showed for the first time its new high speed industrial data modem, offering ruggedness, simplicity of use and a range of customised options, with data transfer speeds up to 96000 baud.
- MTL Instruments Group stand was this leading IS group's biggest at C&I to date. The UK companies of the group showed their most varied array yet of instruments and devices for the process control and related industries.
- Miltronics launched the latest in their ramge of US levelmeasuring instruments, the AiRanger SPL.
- Krohne featured state-of-the-art technology and re-engineered versions of proven products as a feature of their stand. They also showed new products such as TIDALFLUX - a mag meter which accuratly measures flow in partly-filled pipelines, and the Reflex-Radar BM100 for level measurement.
- Airflow Developments has updated its BCURA isokinetic sampling device to offer greater application to smaller stacks and flues. Their new Aircone kit provide a quick and accurate method to maximise the flexibility of the 100mm rotating vane anemometer models.
- Arcom launched their new CANbus PC/104 module adding to their already impressive range of products.
- Adept Scientific demonstrated the new DATAshuttle Express from Strawberry Tree, a single box solution data acquisition device that enables scientists and engineers to take high-speed measurements from a wide variety of transducers and sensors using a standard notebook or desktop PC.
- Beamex showed the new POC4 pneumatic pressure controller which is used with a host PC106 pressure calibrator to give a fully automatic system for the calibration of pressure transmitters, and other pressure instruments.
- Control Technology International previewed the PCVUE32 SCADA/HMI software. This native 32bit software is aimed at Windows NT and Windows 95 users "with a vision to the future Microsoft 32 bit multitasking operating systems."
- Bristol Babcock displayed for the first time in Europe a new suite of powerful programming tools for bristol Babcock's Network 3000 RTU control system family.
- Druck Limited used C&I to celebrate 25 years of pressure measurement and displayed their newly-expanded range of process, laboratory, and industrial calibration instruments and sensors.
- AJG Waters offered the Groth Model 1660 pilot-operated pressure vacuum relief valve for use in storage tanks and other process vessels, as protection against structural damage from excess pressure or vacuum through emptying and filling operations.
