Blue-eyed-grass
Sisyrinchium hibernicum
Blue-eyed grass is actually related to irises, not grasses, but it has a long narrow leaf which is somewhat grass-like. The flower is bright blue and opens only in full sun. A very local species, mainly found in the Lough Erne region of Fermanagh in wet pasture and lake shores. The species is a member of the so-called American element of the Irish flora, being absent from any other part of Eurasia, but occurring mainly in North America.
