Common dog-violet
Viola Riviniana
The commom dog-violet can be on heaths, dry banks and grassy walls, in woods, hedges and costal areas. It can also be found in gardens where it can become quite a persistent weed. It is often a rich bluish-violet in colour or violet blue with a pale creamy spur, with a long stalk and heart-shaped leaves.
