Catholic charismatic Renewal

Some links to assist in the study of a 20th Century Phenomenon

The most useful written resource for any Catholic, never mind those who are labeled "charismatic", is Sacred Scripture, the Holy Bible - the Word of God.

The great translator of scripture into Latin, St Jerome declared, "Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ." So it is fitting that we should read scripture to understand more the mind that is in Christ Jesus the Lord. (See the encylical SPIRITUS PARACLITUS from Benedict XV for more on St Jerome.)

Charismatics particularly read 1 Corinthians 12 as an affirmation of the gifts which are particularly manifested in this movement. The first four chapters of Acts are also important for Catholics for it was during a study retreat, in February 1967, on these chapters that power of the Holy Spirit fell "as by a new Pentecost."
